Exciting news I’ve got a new microphone. It’s the microphone that came with the video game Rock Band. I did it on a whim really I saw that it had a USB plug and that it was made by Logitech the folks who make most of the desktop microphones for computers.
And it works. I record on the Sound Recorder from the Windows Accessories Entertainment. It records in WAV format and I edit using Audacity. The sound is so much better than my digital Recorder.
This week’s show is entitled Running with my dog. I’ll take you on a run and discuss the ins and outs as I see it of running with my dog.
I’ve got a new segment TUNE Today’s Ultra News Express. So without further adieu here is my new segment.
Today’s Ultra News Express
This is a new segment to the Ultradad Podcast. I wanted to highlight some of the bigger races around the continent. I’m a bit of a fan to the ultra scene so it’s always interesting to see who’s winning these events. Although you know in ultras its not how fast you are it’s the fact that you are out there. But you know it’s also nice to give credit where credit is due, these runners ran hard to get these results so kudos to them and this is my pat on there back. I also want to highlight upcoming events just in case you want to mark it on your calendar.
May 17-18 was the Massanutten Mountain Trails 100 in George Washington National Forest in Virginia.
Todd Walker, who placed 2nd last year and won the overall event this year is an outstanding time of 20:58:53
Keith Knipling who has a long standing love affair with this race. He’s run the race 9 times and this year was his personal best at 21:07 placing 2nd overall. Keith ,who you may have read about in the book Running through the Wall:Personal Encounters With the Ultramarathon is also a Grand Slammer from last year.
The womens winner was Amy Sproston from Washington DC in a time of 26:08:57. Fantastic!
